Kolster Awarded 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship

Michael Kolster has been awarded a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship to pursue his project Take Me to the River. The 12-month Fellowship, to commence in in January 2014, will allow him to continue to make ambrotypes of Maine's Androscoggin River, the James in Virginia and the Schuylkill River in Pennsylvania. He will also expand the project to include the Teton River in Idaho and the Los Angeles River in southern California.

TV segment on "The River Lost and Found"

WCSH Channel 6 ran a segment on The River Lost and Found, doing a nice job of describing the project and the exhibit at the Bowdoin College Art Museum. It includes interviews with my colleague and collaborator, Environmental Historian Matthew Klingle, footage of the musuem installation, and shots of the ambrotypes and prints in the show.
Martha Stewart's Blog

Martha Stewart attended the openings of Wegman and The River Lost and Found exhibitions at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. She gives both shows a mention, saying how she "loved the exhibits" and deemed The River Lost and Found "fascinating." I was pleased to be able to tell her how much I love her mac and cheese recipe.
